What to Expect
Every Sunday from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM, kids dive into God’s Word using The Gospel Story Curriculum by Marty Machowski—an engaging, Christ-centered program that helps kids see the Bible as one big story with Jesus at the center.
Kids can expect:
- Opening Time where we learn hand motions/Sword bible verses and a song before dismissing to classes.
- Engaging, age-appropriate lessons across three learning levels.
- Hands-on activities and storytelling.
- The Gospel Story Bible is used in every classroom.
- Long Story Short and Old Story New devotionals sent home so families can continue learning together.
By revisiting key Bible stories over three years, children grow deeper in their understanding of God’s redemptive plan—and parents are equipped to keep the conversation going at home.
Classroom Placements
For Pre-K through elementary ages, we follow Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) age guidelines and school-year grade placement. Children move up to their next class each year on the first Sunday after Labor Day.
Sword Bible Memory Verse
We’re excited to launch a fun and meaningful Scripture memory program that helps kids hide God’s Word in their hearts. Stay tuned!
When children memorize Bible verses, God’s Word is planted deep in their hearts. These verses become a source of comfort, guidance, and truth that they can carry with them wherever they go. Hiding God’s Word in their hearts helps them know who God is, remember His promises, and grow in their faith.
Every 6 weeks, children learn a new verse or set of verses in the Sunday School Opening Time. Children are taught ASL signs to aid in memorization, and families receive a copy to practice at home.
