English for Life

English for Life is offering a summer class for beginning English learners on Monday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:40 pm, starting  June 15 and continuing six weeks in a row, until July 20. If you are interested in being a classroom assistant, send a message to Annelies at english@atonementlife.org by May 4. You can sign up just one time or for every class! There is no preparation involved except to attend one meeting before the start of the class. You can find more information and also sign up here: Summer Class. We would love to have some men sign up. Annelies Galletta will be the lead teacher.

For the fall, English for Life needs a new Childcare Coordinator. This person comes to English for Life once a week, plans activities for a handful of children, and recruits one adult helper. Finally, if you have been on the fence about getting involved in English for Life, this is the time to act! We’d like to add one or two teachers and regular assistants to our team. There is some training involved over the summer, most of which is online. You do not need to know another language, and you will be part of a teaching team. Please send a message to Annelies at english@atonementlife.org by May 4 if you want to find out what’s involved and figure out why English for Life teachers are enjoying their work! If you want to have a non-teaching role, we can use another service volunteer to help with set-up and refreshments once a week too. A responsible high school student who needs community service hours would be great!
